该衍生剧讲述了社交能力强、恋爱经验丰富却对人类恋爱感到厌倦的青年功介，意外坠入两段“非典型恋情”的成长故事。在决定只爱动物后，功介对住院的狗狗“优卡”一见钟情，并暗恋着狗咖啡店“Lovely Tails Café”的店长宫濑优香。然而，无论是面对优香还是优卡，向来自信满满的功介都发现自己毫无胜算，陷入苦恼。故事聚焦于他“败犬”式的情感挣扎与内心成长，是本篇未曾呈现的另一面恋爱插曲。
